Founder and Chief Eating Officer at Atlanta Food Walks
Akila McConnell’s mind (and waistline) expands as she eats her way around Atlanta and the world. She founded Atlanta Food Walks in 2015 to allow guests dig deeper into the city’s amazing food and powerful stories. An acclaimed food and travel writer, she was the food travel expert for About.com and USA Today for four years, and has written for Conde Nast, Barclaycard, USA Today, and others. She is currently writing her first book on Atlanta’s Unexpected Culinary History (Arcadia Publishing, mid-2019). Akila’s superpower is her uncanny ability to always finish dessert.
