About Me

Tao Tao is the Co-Founder and Chief Operating Officer (COO) at GetYourGuide. In this role, Tao spearheads the development of GetYourGuide’s go-to-market strategy, optimizes consumers’ user-facing experience, and ensures the company promotes offerings that represent the latest trends in the experiences space.

Since imagining the concept of GetYourGuide with his peers in 2009, Tao has successfully guided the platform from its start-up origins through multiple successful external fundraising rounds. Tao has been instrumental in securing partnerships with GetYourGuide’s more than 25,000 supply partners by identifying and optimizing the tools needed to better engage potential customers. As a result, GetYourGuide currently offers customers more than 140,000 activities across 10,000 cities.

Tao is committed to mentoring the next generation of entrepreneurs driving global innovation and is an active participant in several philanthropic and charitable organizations, including the Founders Pledge, YPO leadership community, and Deutschlandstiftung Integration. In 2023, he was recognized by STARTUP TEENS, a German education platform for up-and-coming business leaders, with its Role Model award.

Originally from Beijing, Tao is passionate about building cultural bridges and experiencing new adventures abroad. He is fluent in Chinese, German, English, and French, and received a degree in Economics from Tilburg University and a degree in Physics from ETH Zurich.

To make it possible for true collaboration, creativity, innovation, and idea exchange to thrive, we are committed to facilitating a welcoming and respectful community for all. This Conference Code of Conduct shares our community expectations and applies to all attendees, employees, exhibitors, speakers, sponsors, volunteers, and other participants at Arival- produced and sponsored events. We empower all participants in our community to actively engage in creating a friendly, inclusive and safe environment for all.

Arival reserves the right to refuse entry to or remove any party from any event or community space at any time when participation or behavior create a disruption or hinder the event or enjoyment of the event by other participants. All determinations are at the sole discretion of Arival, and the decision of the Arival team will be final. Severe breaches of this Conference Code of Conduct may result in disqualification from participating in future events. Individuals expelled due to violating this Conference Code of Conduct will not be eligible for a refund or other consolation.
